The Newcastle United transfer agenda has had more twists and turns than Alton Towers this last week, and yet here we are with nothing much changed. Hugo Ekitike looks destined for Liverpool, while talks over extending Alexander Isak's contract continue.

Newcastle have been in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Ekitike for a few days now, and they are really keen to land him. Liverpool, who made an approach for Alexander Isak, have also contacted the German club to be informed of the Ekitike situation.

After pulling out of a deal for Hugo Ekitike, Newcastle United are shifting focus to another Bundesliga striker admired by Eddie Howe.
