Perplexity's CEO says Google is stuck between protecting ad revenue and embracing AI agents in browsers. It needs to "embrace one path and suffer."

Google has set an August 20 date for its next Made by Google event. The company intends to “share the latest on our Pixel phones, watches, buds, and more.” In addition to the Pixel 10 series, we could see the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a make their debut.

Google will now let everyone in the US call local businesses using AI. The feature, which is now available in Search, allows you to use AI for pricing or availability information without having to talk on the phone.

The researchers argue that CoT monitoring can help researchers detect when models begin to exploit flaws in their training, manipulate data, or fall victim to malicious user manipulation. Any issues that are found can then either be “blocked, or replaced with safer actions, or reviewed in more depth.”

Just like with Google Search years ago, trying to improve AI-generated responses on behalf of noteworthy clientele has become the name of the game.
