After the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup last month, a team executive with ties to Atlanta brought the trophy to town to celebrate.

The names of the 2024-25 Stanley Cup champions were engraved on the trophy earlier this week. A picture posted to social media shows 52 members of the Panthers ownership, staff and team were added to the trophy.

Just days after the Stanley Cup appeared in Alpharetta, Forsyth County officials say they’re “in a holding pattern” waiting for word on whether The Gathering at South Forsyth will land Georgia’s next NHL franchise.

Attendees were able to pose for photos in front of the Stanley Cup Trophy and experience a special piece of sports history.

For years, the most recognizable cup in South Florida was the ubiquitous green plastic one everyone has at least one of after visiting Flanigans. Thursday, the cup that replaced it in the hearts of Floridians — the Stanley Cup — graciously stopped by a Flanigans for some lunch.
